About us

Pension Barendregt has been a family enterprise since 1951. We started as a sole proprietary for a target-group predominantly consisting of single, well-to-do renters, many of whom were former (Dutch) Indonesian inhabitants. After independence of the former Dutch colony, many of these – mostly elderly – people returned to the Netherlands. They were therefore fully catered for at Pension Barendregt.
Around 1970, the target-group changed to customers who came to work in Rotterdam and needed temporary accommodation.
After this period, a time began when conscientious objectors fulfilled their alternative military service in Rotterdam. Pension Barendregt offered these people temporary accommodation, including all services. Such as the provision of multiple meals per day.
From the year 2000, Pension Barendregt provided temporary housing, again including all services, to staffing agencies for the temporary accommodation of personnel.

The current target group is very diverse: from expats from abroad, individuals interested in temporarily housing, students interested in short term rental (max. 11 months and 2 weeks), to tourists and employees of companies who need accommodation for a few nights or weeks. Overall the mission of Pension Barendregt has always been offering temporary housing including (hotel) services.
